Summer Challenges

My Family is very competitive and we like to challenge each other all the time. These are some ideas that I have come up with and things I have tried. Grab some friends and have some fun with a little friendly competition.
Last year my family was camping and my mom had bought us all the big rolls of hubba bubba bubble gum.  I don’t really like the stuff so I hadn't opened it when by brother decided to bet me $5 that I couldn't chew to whole roll. Of course I can’t pass up $5 so I did it and it was definitely a mess but worth the five dollars.                                     The last thing I want to think about is Christmas right now but I absolutely love the Christmas movie “Elf”. During the holidays I probably watch it at least once a week.  That movie never gets old. In the movie buddy answers the phone in his dads office and says,” I this is buddy the elf what’s your favorite color?!!” I have always wanted to answer the phone like that but have never done it!  Definitely on my to do list next time someone calls me.

Here are some more challenges that my family has come up with:
- go day without electronics
- go a day without shoes
- Smoothie challenge
- go to Walmart and follow someone from the time they get in Walmart until they get in there car
- convince a random person that they are your long lost 3rd cousin
- go vegetarian for a week
- carve a watermelon
- say yes to everything day.
- walk around town with toilet paper on your shoe
- deliver fast food to a random address
- Super glue a quarter to the ground
- Answer phones like buddy the elf
- Help an old lady cross the street.
- find a shake wait in a store and do the shake weight challenge
- pull an all nighter

- Road trip to no where

Summer Fun On a Rainy Day

I love the rain but it seems like whenever I have plans to spend the day outside it RAINS. It's probably just my luck but it sucks. So when plans get canceled because of the weather what are you supposed to do? When I was younger my sister and I always use to race sticks down the gutter. But now that we are older getting soaking wet doesn't seem like much fun anymore. Usually on a rainy day we stay at home and do absolutely nothing, but doing nothing is boring... how about instead of nothing we make things more exciting and do something. Some rainy day activities that I've always wanted to do are organize a flash mobs, attempted a world record, have a spa day, make a music video, and make the video's from Disney channel, " I'm __________ and this is Disney Channel."
For all of you that don't know what a flash mob is it's when people just start dancing in a public place. At the top of this page is a video of one of my favorite flash mob videos. Flash mobs don't have to be just dancing, I have watched videos of people sing, and also some with instruments.  This web site has some great information on creating a flash mob.

I have always wanted to break a word record!! But never gotten around to actually doing it, so why not do it on a rainy day when there's nothing better to do. In my opinion these are the top 10 stupidest world records
1. Largest collection of barf bags
2. Most eggs crushed with head in one minute
3. Largest collection of Smurf memorabilia
4. Most married person.
5. Most People Brushing Their Teeth Simultaneously
6. Most Snails on Face
7. Most toilet seats broken on head in one minute
8. Most step walked by dog while balancing a glass of water
9. Loudest purr by a domestic cat
10. The world’s fastest toilet

Almost Free Summer Activities.

In our society today it seems like all the fun things to do during the summer costs money and being a poor high school student make it very hard to find activities to do on a hot summer day. Whenever my friends and I are trying to find something to do we can never find anything that we can afford. So after about 20 minutes of web surfing and an hour searching on pintrest (because I may or may not be addicted) I have found some activities that cost nothing at all or very little.  Some ideas are hiking, Recreate old photos, watch a sunset and sunrise, or have a bonfire.
Living less than a half hour from the mountains it seems like I spend at least half my summer hiking, fishing, and camping. One of my favorite places to hike is Silver lake, which is up little cottonwood. Whenever we go up there we take a picnic eat lunch and walk around the lake. There is also many hikes to take that branch off from the lake that are relatively easy.

There is nothing like a sunrise in Utah but most people miss the beauty because they're still in bed. But it's worth it to wake up early and take a 5 minute drive to a big open space like a park and watch the sunrise. Sunsets are just as pretty but most people are too busy with their lives to stop and watch the sunset. Why not pack a picnic and watch the sunset... it's also very romantic.
We all have those embarrassing photos that are just fun to look at, I probably have a whole box full. Do you want to make these photos even better? Try to recreate them!! Which is when you find a old photo get find the people in the picture and get in the same positions and just snap that picture. Just imagine how fun this could be and you never know how they will turn out.
Another very popular activities during the summer is a bonfires. Get a couple of friends together at the beginning of the summer and make sure they bring their homework from the past year and burn it all!! Maybe grad some marshmallows, chocolate, and gram crackers and make s'mores. Or even take a drive to the mountains and have a fire cook a meal while spending time in the mountains (a double win).
There are many other things you can do during the summer that are relativity cheap like going on a bike ride, go tubing down a river, or just spend the day outside with friends.
